Victorian Older Adult Mental Health Conference

“Everyone is Valued, Everyone is Needed”

Welcome! This conference is for anyone working in Older Adult Mental Healthcare in Victoria. This is the first year we are hosting a statewide conference that spans disciplines and workplaces.

The theme for our inaugural conference is “Everyone is Valued, Everyone is Needed” – it is a title with multiple meanings for the sector, the people receiving care and their families, and the workforce. Working in older adult mental health is a unique setting described as being deeply rewarding and meaningful. It is also not without its challenges. The meaning and connection felt by all of those who work in the system are what we hope to capture and enhance at this year’s forum.

Our aim is for this program to bring together the wide range of people, skills and knowledge working, teaching and supporting the public clinical mental health service system. Together we can learn, connect and think about how we live out this theme.

We invite you to join with us and a wide circle of colleagues from a range of services across Victoria to explore new ideas and initiatives that demonstrate the value of all of us, workers, consumers, friends, family and carers.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people and other peoples of the Kulin nation as the traditional owners of the land on which our work in the community takes place. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
