Public Health Prevention Conference 2019

The Public Health Prevention Conference is returning in 2019, following the hugely successful first iteration of the Conference in 2018. It was anticipated that the event would attract 100-150 delegates, however exceed expectations with over 300 people attending and the extension of the program to two and a half days.

The Public Health Prevention Conference 2019 is being held from Wednesday 12 to Friday 14 June 2019 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Victoria.

The 2019 Conference theme is ‘Smashing the Silos’. Two Conference Sub-Themes will guide the program:

• Economics of prevention
• What is working, what needs to be strengthened and what are the biggest gaps in prevention systems

The 2019 Public Health Prevention Conference will build on the learnings from the 2018 Conference which highlighted gaps in systems and advocacy for prevention. The big theme for the 2019 Conference will focus on the translation of research and evidence about systems into action, drawing on experiences in Australia and in similar contexts internationally.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people and other peoples of the Kulin nation as the traditional owners of the land on which our work in the community takes place. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
