In the past couple of months, ECLC has delivered a range of free community legal education workshops, the latest called ‘How to Better Plan Your Future on 5 October 2020 by ECLC and Whitehorse Manningham Libraries.
This session attracted 45 participants who learned about Wills and Powers of Attorney, advanced care directives, family agreements, and succession mediation. It also included an overview of elder abuse services and an overview of ECLC’s ROSE and ELSA. All participants said they had learned something new and more than 85% of the participants said they intended to apply what they learned.
Three other ECLC online workshops that were held during August to October 2020 covered: infringements, elder abuse and gambling harm, and family violence and intervention orders.
Due to the success of these workshops, community professionals and service providers in Melbourne’s eastern region are invited to register for more free professional development workshops by ECLC to help improve support for clients with legal issues.
In our session on family law, we will cover the following:
- Types of family law matters
- Family law principles in relation to children
- Family law processes in relation to children
- Intervention orders and family law
- Reality of family court experience
Please let us know in your registration if there is anything in particular you wish to gain from this session.
