Strengthening Volunteering in the East

The report is a retrospective summary of the work that the Inner East Primary Care Partnership (IEPCP) has done over the past 3 years in relation to understanding the volunteer sector and the work of the sector in the Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR). The report was developed as a way to provide a historical reference to the pieces of work that have been done both within and external to the IEPCP and to bring this work together in a clear summary with the view of being able to move forward with an informed approach.

The purpose of the report is to summarize both the activities that the IEPCP has been involved in, as well as to reference research and policy that have informed the IEPCP’s understanding of the volunteer sector, particularly as it relates to being a mechanism for Social Inclusion. The work that has been done has had a strong focus on the link between volunteering and inclusive communities, as such the information included in this report relates to this perspective.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people and other peoples of the Kulin nation as the traditional owners of the land on which our work in the community takes place. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
